Make It Exclusive

If you’ve been dating your guy a while, you probably want to change your status from “single” to “in a relationship”.

If you’re really sure he’s “the one” for you, then make it happen with these steps.

Have “the talk”
Neither one of you should just assume you are the only one, you have to communicate. But don’t call him up and say “we need to talk about us.” He’ll either think you’re dumping him or worse. Wait until you are out for a nice dinner, or on a walk, or even just catching a cup of coffee together.

Make him want to commit to you

Guys love the thrill of the hunt and will usually move mountains to be with the woman they want to be with. Don’t chase him relentlessly and try to pressure him into a relationship. That nearly always backfires. Don’t pretend or hide anything about yourself. The person you are will be enough to make him want to be with you exclusively. Be open and honest about both the pros and cons of making your relationship just the two of you. Make sure you discuss your feelings while inviting him to discuss his. Don’t make demands about making the relationship exclusive. And don’t make threats or give ultimatums (see me exclusively or we’re through.) That may be the way you feel, but if he did the same to you your back would go up and you would walk, no matter how you felt.

Give him a break. Literally.

You will hear this over and over from both men and women friends. The moment they took a break from their relationship, they realized how much they meant to each other. You’ve heard the expression “Absence makes the heart grow fonder?” But if you want to get serious and your guy doesn’t, maybe you do need to take a break.

About a month after seeing this guy, and frequently texting during the day (while we were both at work )I wrote a sweet text message to him. “Baby, Do you want me all to yourself?” And he replied “I would really like that, I just wasn’t sure how you felt.” I said “I’m all yours :)”- Kinda cheesy but it worked! It wasn’t akward.
