It’s French. It’s fabulous. It works. It’s SVR’s (the brand’s name is an acronym that stands for its founders Simone and Robert Véret) Double Cleansing Balm or as the locals would say, Baume Demaquillant.
Crafted specifically for hypersensitive skin and with just nine ingredients, of which 95 per cent are natural-origin ingredients, this makeup-remover/cleanser does the job and then some. First, it double cleans our skin without irritation, itchiness, redness or that tight uncomfortable feeling, which is great because we want to eliminate all of the dirt, grime and pollution from our skin safely. Next, its oil balm texture has been purposefully made from a blend of shea butter, coconut and sunflower oils to deeply and completely dissolve even the most stubborn, waterproof make-up. And last but not least, its milky emulsion easily removes impurities from our face—all without leaving a gross and greasy film.
Instead, our face is clean, soothed and moisturized. And even when we get a bit in our eyes (we don’t know why but we always do), it doesn’t sting or leave blurry spots we can’t blink away. That’s because the formulation has been tested and approved by dermatologists so that even the most fragile skin types and contact lens wearers can safely wash up, from the forehead to the eyes, lips and chin, at the end of every day.
