Product Of The Week: Dermalogica Phyto Replenish Body Oil

It’s no secret I love body oils and recently I added Dermalogica Phyto Replenish Body Oil to my favourites list.

The oil’s light and tangy, energizing, floral citrus scent of bergamot and orange blossom grabbed my attention on first sniff. I like fragrance, more than most, but I’m not a big fan of overpowering body product smells. This oil and its fresh scent strike the right balance.

It also feels good when I rub it in and soaks in quickly with zero grease factor. The formula’s blend of French plum seed and avocado oils isn’t sticky to the touch (a personal pet peeve) and leaves my skin looking and feeling moisturized and smooth. Very big check marks. I know, the product is supposed to be applied with damp hands on dry skin, but I tend to take the bottle with me into the shower so that I can apply it there. The only concession I have to make afterwards is patting my body dry with a towel, so that I don’t rub all of the goodness away.

If you’re a packaging geek like me, you’ll understand why I’m so drawn to the oil’s glass flacon. It has a bit of a lip on the rim of the opening, which is aesthetically interesting to look at but also helps controls how much oil I’m pouring into my hand. I only need a few drops to cover each body part, so between the bottle’s lip and 125-ml size, the Phyto Replenish Body Oil should last at least three months, even if I use it every single day.

Dermalogica Phyto Replenish Body Oil, $73, available online at www.dermalogica.ca.
