Sex Benefits

Did you know that sex”or more specifically, a lack of it”is the second biggest cause of disagreements between couples? Money is the only issue that’s more problematic. Since we can’t control what happens with global finance, why not take the time for a little sweaty sexercise”and all the benefits that come with it?

When couples aren’t intimate, over time, both partners actually experience a decreased interest in doing the horizontal hustle. Not having sex can cause irritability, lower self-confidence and a greater distance between you and your partner. It may seem counterproductive, but not having sex actually slows the production of hormones and chemicals that give us our drive to have sex. So as strange as it sounds, the best remedy for a depleted libido is¦ to have more sex! Here are a few of the benefits you’ll enjoy:

1. Sex strengthens the bond between you and your partner. Physically touching a loved one (with or without orgasm) triggers the production of oxytocin, a chemical that has been directly linked to our ability to trust and bond.

2. Sex helps you ward off illness. A romp in the hay boosts your immune system because it causes the body to produce more antibodies called immunoglobulins. These attach to foreign substances so that your immune system can destroy them.

3. Sex lowers stress. Hard day at work? Getting horizontal has been proven to reduce the effects of stress, including lowering blood pressure.

4. Sex makes you fit. Just call it sexercise. A 30-minute romp can actually burn 80 to 90 calories, rivaling a session at the gym”and much more fun than the treadmill!

5. Sex relieves pain. Engaging in sexual activity reduces the intensity of general bodily aches and pains, including PMS symptoms like cramping.

6. Sex helps you sleep better. The oxytocin released when you canoodle with a partner helps you relax and fall asleep. (Now that’s why he always seems to fall unconscious after you make love!)

7. Sex makes you sexy! When you have sex with a loving partner, he’s demonstrating his attraction to you as a sexual being. This, in turn, makes you feel sensual and sexy, increasing overall self-esteem.

Want to kick-start your libido to take advantage of these sex benefits? Massage”even non-sexual touching can bring you and your partner closer while dispelling the stress that can cause a decline in libido in the first place. Or try visiting an adult store together. Even if you don’t buy anything, it may spark new ideas and at the very least will help get you into a sensual frame of mind. If you’re too shy to shop in person, you can window shop together online.

Make it a point to stay in touch with your sexy side”and you’ll reap the benefits for years to come.
