Beauty Review: John Frieda Luxurious Volume Anytime Volume Refresher Dry Shampoo

What it is:
John Frieda Luxurious Volume Anytime Volume Refresher Dry Shampoo, $10.50 Available at Shoppers Drug Mart.

How it works.
With just a few quick sprays, this dry shampoo removes greasy roots and build-up while increasing fullness and creating lift.  It’s easy to use, you just spray it on like a hairspray, lifting up small sections of your hair and spray at the roots in quick short bursts. Although the product goes on transparent, it looks best if you run your fingers or brush through it to make sure it all gets absorbed.

Compared to other dry shampoos…
Unlike dry shampoos that are loose powders (like I normally use), this spray does not leave any residue or make any mess. I have oily hair that cannot go more than a day without washing, so I have been hooked on dry shampoos to keep my hair from getting damaged from over styling. But I have never been a fan of the whitish tint or the talc-like smell that most powders on the market leave. Luxurious Volume is a no-mess solution that smells really great and lets you keep your ˜do’ for days.

Why I love it (fooled my friends!):
My hair is naturally thick and wavy. I find that when styling my hair with a curling iron, it always holds best when it is a little greasy. After two days, with unstyled hair and roots that looked like they should be banned from the public, i attempted to create the impossible. Using Luxurious Volume I brought my blond hair back to life. I brushed and then curled. Everyone thought i had gone to the salon that day!

Only downside:
I did get a bit carried away and was using it all the time, so I found that I used it up fast. The cans are small, so it will get used up really quickly if you’re using a lot of it, or using it every day. Just a few short sprays usually will do the trick.
