The Hottest Spring Fitness Trends

Work it out! Spring has a way of spurring new motivation when it comes to hitting the gym: perhaps the warmer weather and fewer layers remind us it’s time to get moving. Take up one of these new trends for 2015 and watch your abs shade in!

Insta-workouts
Wanna train with a celebrity trainer? Yeah, us too. Great news: now you can! Some generous trainers, like David Kirsch, Shauna Harrison and Gunnar Peterson grace us with their moves and techniques on Instagram, making us all the more motivated to move like Heidi Klum, Jennifer Lopez and Kate Upton, to name a few.

Stay Fit on the Road
Being cooped up in a hotel is no longer an excuse when it comes to skipping a workout. Mega (and Canadian!) yoga brand Lululemon has just teamed up with the ultra luxe Shangri-La Toronto, making your stay just a little more zen. The in-room iPad or TV streams a vinyasa flow-based practice, led by Lululemon Ambassador Amber Joliat. And to that, we say om.

Spin, spin sugar
Looking for a new spin on your beloved spin class? Give a treadmill class a go! A group setting banishes boredom ” which let’s be real, is imminent when logging kilometers when hitting the treadmill solo. Group settings also set the pace, encouraging you to push yourself a little harder than you might if you were alone. Another perk? Treadmill classes tend to work in bursts of intervals, meaning you’ll torch more fat and calories than if you were just going for a jog. Check out Equinox’s classes in Toronto.

Fit is Fashionable
Fashion authority Vogue splashed mega model Karlie Kloss across a spread dedicated to food in their March issue, driving home the point food, fashion and fitness are as one. Kloss’ lithe figure, swathed in spring designer collections, is photographed in various chic and popular NYC restaurants, with the first page being in Momofuku’s Milk Bar with Christina Tosi (Kloss’ baking partner in crime in creating the models’ wheat-free Karlie’s Kookies) There’s certainly a bridge between food and fashion. Both create beautiful things that inspire, indulge, and feed the creative mind, says Tosi. And we agree! So stock up on a fashion/ fitness collaboration, like Rihanna x Puma, Sweaty Betty x Richard Nicoll or longtime fave Stella McCartney x Adidas, sweat it out, and reward yourself by refueling with a delicious and nutritious kookie.
