Connor Storrie proved that he has serious Hollywood staying power when he walked the red carpet at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles at the 2026 Golden Globes on Sunday January 11, 2026. Storrie — one of the breakout stars of Crave’s hit hockey romance Heated Rivalry — made his red carpet debut at the Globes wearing a classic black suit, a crisp white dress shirt, a skinny tie, and polished black dress shoes, courtesy of Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello. But, it’s the potential double meaning behind one of Storrie’s glimmering accessories that has fans gagging and praising his stylist, James Yardley.
Storrie wore all Tiffany & Co. accessories for his first Golden Globes appearance, most notably the iconic “Bird on a Rock” brooch — rendered in diamonds and perched over an emerald-cut stone — a subtle nod to his Heated Rivalry character Ilya Rozanov’s most irrational fear… loons. Ilya’s fear of loons is a beloved quirk in the fandom, and that fear brings one of the most memorable lines in both the book and TV series: “stupid Canadian wolf-bird.”
Back to the brooch that Storrie wore on the red carpet. The highly coveted “Bird on a Rock” brooch was originally made famous by legendary designer Jean Schlumberger in 1965 and is a staple of the Maison. The brooch features a diamond-encrusted bird perched on a large, colourful gemstone, often a yellow diamond, citrine, or pink sapphire, set like a rock. It is one of Tiffany’s most recognizable and beloved designs, intended to symbolize joy and possibility.
Storrie isn’t the first man to wear the Tiffany & Co Bird on a Rock brooch on the red carpet in recent years. Jeremy Allen White wore a version to last year’s Screen Actors Guild Awards and Michael B. Jordan famously wore two to the Academy Awards in 2023.
Both Storrie and his co-star Hudson Williams leapt from relative anonymity into international recognition thanks to their leading roles in Heated Rivalry. The pair have dominated the headlines and have set the internet ablaze with their viral interviews and photo shoots since Heated Rivalry’s November 28 debut on Crave in Canada and HBO Max south of the border.
