It’s collaboration season! Or at least that’s what we’re gathering from the news that Penelope Cruz and her sister Monica are teaming up with Agent Provacateur for a new lingerie line.
According to Vogue UK, the L’Agent diffusion line “will feature 15 styles, including a selection of bras, briefs and corsets,” and has been in the works over the past couple months after Monica Cruz was cast as the face of the Autumn/Winter 2012-2013 campaign. Evidently, Monica has an affinity for design, so under the supervision of Agent Provacateur’s creative director, Sarah Shotton, the two sisters got creative.
“It is so exciting for me and Monica to embark in this new adventure,” said Penelope. “We have always been huge fans of Agent Provacateur and both of us are very much looking forward to this long term collaboration. We feel extremely happy to become part of this great team.”
And it’s not like either Cruz women are just throwing their name on pieces they’ve never seen. Both are “heavily involved” in the creative process (choosing fabrics, scouting vintage designs), and are slated to be working with Agent Provacateur for a minimum of five years.
Sadly, we have to wait until August 1, 2013 to get our hands on the Cruz-bred collection, but L’Agent is expected not only to be cheaper, but more accessible with a younger audience in mind. We’ll take it!
