Katy Perry’s getting a line of fragrances thanks to Coty!
Coty will also pick up the singer’s existing fragrances, Purr and Meow! (I guess she likes cats?), and add that to their roster as Ms. Perry develops more.
“I am honoured to be working with Coty, which has produced some of my favourite fragrances,” Katy said in a statement. “I’m excited to share what’s next in my perfumed world as well as making Purr and Meow! more accessible worldwide.”
Coty’s just as psyched: “We are thrilled to have an artist as creative and talented as Katy Perry join us at Coty,” said the president of Coty Beauty, Renato Semerari. “Katy is original and daring — her unique approach to music and life will serve as the inspiration behind her innovative new scents and allow us to explore new avenues of scent creation.”
Katy Perry joins the likes of Calvin Klein, Chloe, and Marc Jacobs, who are also under the Coty umbrella, so we really can expect her to reach new levels of noteriety in the beauty world. No word yet on what she’s got up her sleeve, but the rule of three implies that it also needs to be cat-themed. (Maybe a fragrance called “Whiskers”? Or “Aloof,” if she really wants to nail the personality of most felines?)
