Roseanne

Some may bash Roseanne for being trailer park programming or whatever, but these are the people that seemingly miss the relevance of it. At the time seeing a woman in a lead role was dismal. And, watching a family that was more than rough around the edges and anything but rich was not broadcasted before Roseanne. This was not your Brady Bunch type of family and that’s exactly what made it great. The parenting approaches weren’t all about hugs and sweet talk: there was screaming, there were extreme arguments, there were lies”by golly it looks like a real family. Still, through all the heated times there was a plethora of hilarious skits, acting and dialogue that showed you didn’t need to be rich to be happy. It was nice to flip on the TV and watch characters battle through their problems because who wants to see a perfect sing-a-long sitcom? Halloween episodes like this were the best therapy for a bad day.
