Travel Makeup Guide

Summer is prime time for travelling, and we all know that a beauty-bag is an important part of any packing ritual. But what do you bring when on vacation?

Keep it simple

You're probably going to have your photo taken a lot while you're away, so you don't want to overdo it, keep it consistent, and avoid anything too crazy. Remember that you'll be doing a lot of walking, hence a lot of sweating, so the lighter the makeup, the better. Skipping foundation is probably a good idea as it lets your skin breathe, and keeps it from looking awkward when melting inevitably occurs. A bit of powder, bronzer, and waterproof eyeliner and mascara go a long way.

A bright lip to brighten your look

Sunglasses are an important part of any good vay-cay, so you have to play up what is left visible. If you're going super light on the eye makeup, feel free to go for a fun and bold lip colour – red, coral, or fuschia are great examples of the endless possibilities, with shades available that suit any skin colour. Just think of accenting your holiday-smile!

Protect your skin

Remember that SPF is mega important when you're out in the sun all day – face and chest need to have protection reapplied throughout the day, and a rimmed hat can save you, while accenting your style. Nothing makes for worse photos than a sunburn.
