If you remember that time Gap had a fragrance collection back in the mid- ‘90s you’ve likely been missing it just like us. We were fans of the legendary scent lineup which launched back in November 1994. In fact, a few years ago when caught wind that the fragrances were suddenly popping up in select Gap Factory stores, we made the road trip and stocked up on Dream (iykyk).
Fast-forward to 2026 with Gap now in full reinvention mode under the stylish eye of designer and company creative director Zac Posen. Leaning heavily into nostalgia and the generations of us who grew up as Gap devotees, Posen has been making some serious power moves. He was the brains behind the launch of GapStudio, the brand’s high-end atelier design studio that drops limited edition, collectible pieces which have been worn by celebrities including Anne Hathaway, Demi Moore, and Gracie Abrams.
Then came the return of viral Gap ads with Kyla and Katseye as stars. Just last week we had introduction of the Hailey Jean, a pair of signature denim styles created in collaboration with Hailey Bieber inspired by the Gap denim silhouettes popular in 1996, the year Bieber was born. Of course, they sold out in seconds. And now to close out July comes the first launch from the revitalized Gap Beauty division, a reboot of those iconic Gap scents.
In the collection you’ll find the four original Gap Fragrance scents, plus there will be a brand new bonus one too which we’re all likely to become obsessed with. According to the Business of Fashion (BOF), Dream, Grass, Heaven, and Om are back, and have been reimagined and slightly remixed. Deb Redmond, head of beauty at Gap Inc. says tweaks were made to the original formulas to modernize the scents and create a longer-lasting, more wearable experience.
“We didn’t want to just dust something off from the archive and put it back on the shelves,” Redmond shared with BOF. “We had to make sure it was the right time and space.”
In the mix of the five Gap fragrances, there is one for every scent lover. Dream was first introduced back in 1996 (it was the all-time best-seller) which features ethereal floral notes like orange flower mixed with neroli and cedarwood to deliver a fresh, woodsy finish. Grass smells like summer in a bottle with notes of green mandarin, violet leaf, vetiver and matcha tea. Heaven—my personal favourite—stars a heady mix of solar vanilla, pear and cardamon (I can’t wait to wear this again!). Om has notes of incense and labdanum with the addition of ginger, sandalwood, and cedar.
Harmony is the new addition to the Gap Fragrance lineup. This one is a fresh fruity floral gourmand scent featuring notes of apricot, mandarin, tuberose, jasmine, and a touch of gourmand amber.
Each Gap scent has also been repackaged into sleek, square clear glass bottles. The fresh face of Gap Fragrance is American actor Victoria Pedretti—best known for her roles in Netflix horror series The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor—who fronts the campaign titled “Wear What Your Feel.”

You can shop Gap Fragrance in stores and online on July 30, and a full size 50ml bottle retails for just over $70. Bet you won’t buy just one!
