When a perfume bottle looks like a miniature piece of art, it’s hard not to pick it up and spritz a little on. Even more difficult to not put in your shopping basket, walk to the cashier and then, take home. It certainly explains our love affair with NEST Fragrance’s collection of eau de parfums, complete with the New York City brand’s latest, Sunkissed Hibiscus. It is just as beautiful to look at, as it is to breathe in.
Smooth and radiant, and inspired by the works of 18th Century British artist Mrs. Mary Delany, Laura Slatkin, the founder of NEST Fragrances collaborated with master perfumers to craft a luxurious fragrance capturing the essence of the botanical. The eau opens with sunny notes of frangipani flowers and coconut to create the hibiscus bloom’s luminous, tropical sensation. A heady bouquet of tuberose, orange blossom and gardenia soon waft up to the forefront before swirling into a golden pool of warm amber for a seductive finish. The overall effect is bright, welcoming and glowing—a masterpiece, floating inside a work of art.
Stunning and colourful, an illustration of two orange-y purple hibiscus blooms with golden tipped petals and brilliant green stems shine through the eau’s clear, glass bottle.
The ergonomic, square flacon is perfectly crafted to fit in the palm of our hand, making it easy to look at the exquisite piece of art, captured behind the liquid inside, from every angle. A sleek matte black capper secured in a circle of silver complete the bottle, while the white lettering across the front is reminiscent of art gallery-style signage.
