3 British Beauty Brands You Have To Try

In the U.K., the term “drugstore” doesn’t exist as formally as it does in the States and Canada. In jolly old England, they call Boots and Superdrug, stores akin to CVS or Shopper’s Drug Mart, “the chemist’s.” Thanks to the world of beauty blogging, where you’re able to see products from both sides of the pond, drugstore beauty brands have become understood and acknowledged, no matter what side of the Atlantic you’re typing from. What we don’t get on this side, though, is the U.K.’s fresh approach to affordable cosmetics. With that, we’ve compiled a list of three of our favourite British beauty brands that ship internationally in case you’re not planning a London getaway anytime soon.

Sleek MakeUP

I was first introduced to Sleek MakeUP through their powder contour palette. The light palette was the perfect cool tone when contouring was only just becoming the mainstream, and we were still using an orange bronzer for the task. They’ve come a long way since then, recently upping their game by launching the Cream Contour Kit. It comes in three different shades (light, medium, dark), with each kit containing two highlighting and four contouring ultra blendable shades that work together to help you achieve a perfectly contoured complexion.

If contouring isn’t your main squeeze, they have plenty of other affordable products for you to try, including the Solstice Highlight Palette ($12 USD, shown above). Their Blush in Rose Gold is a perfect dupe for cult favourite Nars Orgasm, with a staying power and price point to write home about.

Standard shipping to Canada is £8 (around $15) which is quite reasonable given the range of products you can choose from, their affordable price point and quality products.
