Once upon a time, a model named Gisele Bundchen claimed she didn't even own a brush. Now, the mogul is the new Pantene Ambassador, effectively proving my parents had no right to cut my hair off in third grade because I didn't brush my hair. (I was just being trendy.)
As of January 2014, Ms. Bundchen will be the new face of Pantene, as well as their brand new, first-ever, clinically-tested, anti-oxidant damage-blocking technology. She'll be involved in all print and TV advertising, instore displays, iMedia, and all other ways Pantene grabs your attention.
"Gisele is truly a woman who has it all," said Kevin Crociata, Marketing Director of North American Hair Care at Procter & Gamble. "Not only does she have one of the most iconic heads of hair in the beauty world, but she is also a true role model with a huge heart."
"We want to celebrate Gisele not only for her beauty, but also her genuine passion to empower women to be their best selves. Her tremendous career accomplishments, her success as a mother of two wonderful children, and her ongoing philanthropic work are an inspiration for women to be beautiful both inside and out. We are proud to have her as part of our North American Pantene family."
Bundchen, obviously, is equally enthused.
"I feel my hair has been through it all," she mused. "From being styled more than ten times in one day to enjoying the sun and surf with my children — and Pantene has helped to keep it healthy with every wash, no matter what the day may bring. I love that Pantene not only stands for healthy, strong hair, but also encourages women to give back specifically through a program like Pantene Beautiful Lengths."
Well congratulations to Pantene, to Gisele Bundchen, and to all of us who will now be one step closer to having Gisele's hair. We did it, 2013. It's done now.
