Flat and comfortable doesn’t have to mean unstylish. Take a cue from your man’s closet when getting dressed this fall by trying out these menswear-inspired shoe trends.
Here’s how to work them into your wardrobe.
Loafers
Loafers may seem like a throw back to the 60’s…but who doesn’t love Mad Men style?
Luckily for us ladies, loafers are coming out with lots of glam details this season. From all-over studs, to fun prints and feminine colours, these preppy shoes can definitely work with more feminine pieces, like a tailored dress or pencil skirt. Or, for the incredibly fashion forward, pair your loafers with a patterned leisure suit for a real vintage look. They can also go casual when paired with loose-fitting boyfriends jeans for the weekend.
Tip: Go vintage and pair them with knee-high socks. (See photo)

Oxfords/Brogues
These flat, lace-up shoes were a popular shoe choice this past spring and summer, and will continue to be well into autumn. Channel your inner chic geek by pairing these shoes with a cable-knit ski-sweater, collared shirt and slim fit pants for a school-boy inspired look for work.
These shoes can also be worn with feminine flair. Pair them with a flowing, easy dress dress for the weekend and they’ll be the perfect stylish anchor to your ensemble.
Moto/Flat boot
We know sky high lace up booties are a staple in every girl’s fall wrdrobe. However, making a edgy debut this fall is flat boots that cut off at the ankle, with very few embelishements (or a few masculine ones, like studs, zippers, or buckles).
Coming in dark, rich hues, they’re a stylish choice for the weekend with jeans, or can be dressed up for a casual office environment with dark skinny jeans and a blazer.
Warning: You may want to avoid capris with these, or they could make your legs look shorter and stumpier.
