This fall/winter fashion season is filled with neutrals and colors. From orange to burgundy, navy, to stone and black, the options are exciting. Many of the major designers have fashion collections that showcase the subtle as well a bright colors for this season.
There are bold colors joining the trends for fall/winter 2011 seen in the collections by Blumarine, Burberry Prorsum, D & G and Etro. Orange is a standout color, a little goes a long way so use pieces of orange to pull focus with complimentary clothing items. Another bold color available is magenta, again, a little goes a long way. D & G, Gucci, and Balenciaga collections featured this brilliant color in brave designs not made for the shy.

Burgundy is in and looks good on everyone, if the brights of orange, magenta, or yellow are too bold for you, burgundy is a good choice and available in a number of light and dark shades. Stunning designs by Tommy Hilfiger, Gucci, and Marc Jacobs feature this deep, rich color. Purple is making a showing, another deep color if you aren’t a burgundy fan. Purple made its mark in collections by Blumarine, Burberry Prorsum, and Reed Krakoff.

Midnight blue is always fashionable, a beautiful color that is rich and vibrant. You can’t go wrong with this shade of deep blue. Designers Mark Jacobs, Oscar de la Renta, and Louis Vuitton offered classic, modern designs in this always favored color.

Soft colors are also popular this season and look elegant on flowing shirts, dresses, and pants as seen in the collections by Christian Dior and Missoni. Subdued colors of lavenders and peaches are striking in juxtaposition to the light and coolness of fall/winter weather.

Soft hues in lavender, pink, rose, cream, melon and salmon can be seen in collections from Michael Kors, Carolina Herrera, Brioni, Alexander Wang, Mugler and Viktor & Rolf. The classic lines and flowing feminine fabrics make these subtle colors endlessly stylish. Bright yellows are still in so continue using these pieces in combination with your new fall/winter fashions.

If soft colors are a little too muted for you there are bright accessories this season you can pair with your subdued outfits, popping a little color against the shimmery soft tones. Shoes, bags, scarves, and hats in bright colors are a great way to add a little excitement to the calmer colors for fall and winter.

Whites and stone are neutrals heralded by Burberry Prorsum, Chanel, St. John and Versace. A dash of color or a contrasting neutral color accessory will make your neutral colored outfits pop.
