Who is starring in Snow White?
Snow White will be played by Rachel Zegler, while The Evil Queen will be played by Gal Gadot. As for the seven dwarfs…Rather than casting actors with dwarfism, Disney opted for a mix of CGI and diverse actors, generating both acclaim and criticism.

Among others in the cast, we have: Andrew Burnap as Jonathan, Ansu Kabia as the Huntsman, Martin Klebba as Grumpy, Dujonna Gift as Maple, Colin Michael Carmichael as Farno.=

What is Snow White about?
Inspired by the Brothers Grimm story of the same name, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves famously became the first-ever animated film to hit theatres when it premiered at the Carthay Circle Theatre in Los Angeles, California, on December 21, 1937. As New York Times critic Frank S Nugent tellingly wrote in his ’30s review, “If you miss it, you’ll be missing the 10 best pictures of 1938.” Walt Disney’s take on the 19th-century German fairytale ultimately became the highest-grossing film ever at that point – cementing his status as a Hollywood power-player in the process.

The Snow White screenplay was written by Greta Gerwig (Barbie) and Erin Cressida Wilson (The Girl on the Train). Little is known about the plot, other than that it will build upon the 1937 film. The official synopsis from Disney doesn’t offer a ton more information, simply reading: “Disney’s Snow White is a live-action musical reimagining of the classic 1937 film. The magical music adventure journeys back to the timeless story with beloved characters Bashful, Doc, Dopey, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, and Sneezy.

What about the music?
While Disney may have eliminated musical numbers from some of its more recent live-action films, rest assured that Zegler’s pipes will be on full display in Snow White. Benj Pasek and Justin Paul – the team responsible for the soundtracks to both La La Land and The Greatest Showman – have penned original songs for the film.

Where was Snow White filmed?
Snow White was supposed to start filming in Vancouver, British Columbia, in March 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic caused a delay. Ultimately the movie was filmed in the UK from March to July 2022.
