Our fave nail look from day one of World MasterCard Fashion Week in Toronto has to be Line Knitwear’s.
Inspiration: This look was directly inspired by the design and esthetic of the garments in the collection. The designers, John Muscat and Jennifer Wells, utilized many fading techniques to create different forms of ombre in the clothing and essie lead artist, Rita Remark, and her team worked together to have a nail art design that acted as a continuation of this concept.
Step 1: Polish your nails with one coat of Essie's "Ridge filling base coat"
Step 2: Polish one coat of Essie's "Bobbing for Baubles"
Step 3: On a triangular cosmetic sponge, polish "Bobbing for Baubles" and "Sand Tropez" and have them horizontally blend into one another; like an ombre. Working quickly, with a light dabbing motion, stamp this ombre design onto each nail. The idea is to have the colour fade to "Sand Tropez" on the tip, so you may have to go back with more of this shade on the sponge and dab it lightly again for opacity.
Step 4: With an angular brush dipped in nail polish remover clean away any excess from the cuticle area and finish the look with Essie's "Good to Go" topcoat.
