How to Wear Red Makeup

Fall means a new colour palette for both the wardrobe and the makeup bag. It’s time to transition to deep jewel tones, and this season sees red playing a major role when it comes to makeup. While it may not be the easiest shade to wear on your face, or the first one you necessarily reach for, when worn properly it can be show-stopping. Take a page from Gigi and Bella Hadid at Anna Sui’s most recent show at New York Fashion Week and give red eyeshadow a try. It can be a bit of a risk as it can easily make you appear more tired if applied incorrectly, so stick to cooler tones of red and blend into the crease and along the upper and lower lash line. If you find that the red is a bit too intense for you, try blending in a copper or bronze shade to soften the look.
