Oribe Côte d’Azur Eau de Parfum is one of the most luxurious and warm, sexy and accessible fragrances you will ever spritz on. And yet ironically, when you hear the name Oribe, chances are perfume is not the first thing that comes to mind. Hair is.
It makes sense. After all, the late, legendary Oribe Canales was a fixture backstage at Gianni Versace’s runway shows, onset with photographer Steven Meisel and on speed dial with Jennifer Lopez. Throughout the ’80s and early ’90s, his bigger-is-better touch was as synonymous with beautiful, covetous hair as it was with the supermodels, Christy Turlington, Linda Evangelista, Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford and Tatjana Patitz, he styled it on.
Everyone wanted Oribe’s high maintenance looks, lusting after them until finally, he gave them to us in 2008 in the form of his eponymous, first name only, high-end line of hair care and styling products. Each one fueled with the same intimate, fresh and subtly sexy signature scent. It wasn’t called Côte d’Azur Eau de Parfum then. The actual elixir of fresh lemons, bergamot, orange and black currant, swirled into a heady bouquet of tuberose, blue cyclamen and jasmine before being enveloped into a base of creamy sandalwood, vetiver and amber had yet to be poured into a flacon. No, back then it was simply the remarkable scent we couldn’t get enough of, particularly from Oribe’s decade-strong cult favourite, Dry Texturizing Spray.
Lucky for us, we now have the best of both worlds. Stunning-looking hair and an extra hit of Oribe’s signature scent…in our hair and wherever else we choose to spray it.
