To make your trip to the makeup counter full of fun instead of panic, we spoke with Gillian Okopny, NARS National Lead Artist, on how to choose the perfect pink and red lipstick shade just for you. Tip #2: If a bold shade scares you, make it more wearable with a base coat of lip gloss
Many women love the idea of a bold lip, but may not feel ready to commit to the full opacity of a particular shade. One of Francois Nars’ signature techniques that I use is to apply a neutral lip gloss before applying the lipstick, says Okopny. This will soften your colour and is also a very modern way to wear lip gloss.
