Travelling broadens your mind and opens you up to how beautiful the world really is. Beaches are the best part of travelling, so pin these breathtaking oceanfront hotspots to your travel-wishlist and knock them off as you see the world!
1. Cavendish Beach, PEI, Canada
Do you remember reading or watching Anne Of Green Gables in your younger days? All of Montgomery's inspiration came from the untamed, calm wilderness of PEI, and some even came from the breathtakingly perfect Cavendish Beach. True, you can't exactly tan here, but the exquisiteness is so vast that you need to take it in. Sandstone cliffs, soft sand, and endless dunes await your visit.
2. Rabbit Beach, Lampedusa, Sicilian Islands
A rocky wonder in an awe-inspiring setting and gorgeous Sicilian food, what more could you want? It's been voted the best beach in the world, and you'll have to visit to see why. White sand, clear blue waters, cliffs to jump from – this is heaven on Earth, and they have pizza!
3. Freedom Beach, Phuket, Thailand
When "Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason" came out, it ignited a desire in me to visit Thailand (and to marry Colin Firth, but to be fair that desire was always there). The beach scenes of the movie are filmed in Phuket, and the best that area has to offer is Freedom Beach. Largely isolated because of it's inaccessibility, it's paradise if you rent a boat, or battle kilometres of jungle to get to it. But hey, the best things in life take a little effort!
4. Playa de Los Cristianos, Tenerife
A coastal town in the south of Tenerife, Los Cristianos offers you culture, food, beautiful architecture and some of the world's best beaches, all nestled in a sleepy and quiet town. Surrounded by mountains, beach volleyball, bars, and restaurants are all right there, just waiting for you to come visit.
