Find out how to prep your skin for the winter and keep it glowing all year round with these skin-saving tips.
1. Change Moisturizer
As the weather cools off, skin tends to get drier. This might be the time for you to switch to a slightly heavier moisturizer, especially if you notice your skin drying out throughout the day.
2. Exfoliate More Often
You should be exfoliating daily anyway, but if you’re not already, fall is a good time to start. This will help remove the dead skin cells we’re supposed to shed in the fall and make way for the healthier, younger-looking skin beneath the surface.
3. Wear Less Makeup
If you normally wear bronzer, omit that from your fall beauty routine, or at least minimize the amount you wear. Extra layers of makeup like foundations, powders and bronzers, can dry out your skin more and block the pores, creating unnecessary breakouts.
4. Hydrate With Oil-Free Products
If you have oily skin, fall and winter might still not make much difference on your t-zone. If you have combination skin, get a product made for it so you can keep your t-zone dry but provide more moisture to the parts of your face that need it most.
5. Use Eye Cream Twice a Day
The under-eye area can be problematic for many people. Keeping the thin, sensitive skin under the eyes hydrated with a product made for that area will keep the eyes looking fresher, brighter and more youthful. In fall, our skin tends to dry out and that sensitive area will need extra care to look smooth. Plus, applying concealer to dry skin will create a flakey look as the day goes on. Hydrating twice a day will prevent that from happening, leaving your makeup looking better, longer.
