Emilia Clarke is “The One”

Written by Anne T. Donahue

Happy Monday to us all but especially to Emilia Clarke: the Game of Thrones actress is now the face of Dolce & Gabbana’s The One — a fragrance you can pick up in September.

“Emilia Clarke embodies perfectly the Dolce & Gabbana woman: she is radiant and lively,” said Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana in a statement. “Her personality and natural beauty will capture the essence of this new campaign: joyful, spontaneous, and full of life. She is The One!”

Now, for the record, Clarke will be the official face of The One Eau de Toilette which is being described as “an enchanting, sensual and feminine scent, but with an added dose of freshness, and showcasing the key ingredient of madonna lily.”

Well isn’t that nice?! (That sounded super sarcastic, but it isn’t, I swear.)

In other Emilia Clarke news, last week she went on record with Huffington Post UK and made something very clear: she is done talking about her Game of Thrones nude scenes.

“If you’ve watched Game of Thrones then, spoiler, you will have seen me in the nude,” she wrote. “There are plenty of ways in which people want me to respond to questions about this fact. And plenty of reasons why I do not feel the need to justify myself.”

“The roles I’ve played have given me insight into what it feels like to be a woman who stands up to inequality and hate, and stands out as a feminist. It has forced me to stand by my actions and be okay with the consequences.”

The whole post is worth a read, so check it out and then set your alarm clocks to September and bask in the glow of a new Dolce & Gabbana fragrance and Emilia Clarke-fronted corresponding campaign (not to mention July 16 for the new season of GOT). Cool!
