Why Lana Del Rey Is 2024’s Most Iconic Bride

Why Lana Del Rey Is 2024’s Most Iconic Bride

Waterfront nuptials beside a bayou in Louisiana are anything but a typical wedding, but Lana Del Rey was never going to be a classic bride. The “Say Yes To Heaven” singer stayed very on brand with her surprise celebration last weekend marrying Jeremy Dufrene, a alligator tour guide she reportedly has known for five years. The newlyweds only officially revealed their romance over a month ago when they were spotted holding hands at the Leed’s Music Festival where Lana was performing.

In true Lana style, the details (and photographs) of the intimate wedding are limited and mysterious. We do know it was an outdoor wedding and the location is the same bayou where Dufrene operates his swamp boat business. Lana’s father Robert walked her down the aisle, and her bridal style was ultra-dreamy, a perfect pairing of vintage-meets-modern elements.

As for Lana’s look, one which we expect many brides to emulate in the year ahead, she fully embraced the luxury, boho revival that fashion is currently loving (thank you Chloe). There were initial reports that Lana’s breezy, ruffle-trimmed wedding dress was actually a piece she thrifted months before the wedding, but it’s since been confirmed to be a custom piece from the cool-girl, LA-based bridalwear brand CINQ. Designer of the label Mayce Wysner told Billboard that Lana’s wedding dress was “a custom CINQ gown made specifically for her.”

I dug deeper into CINQ’s collection which is an all-star lineup of incredible gowns perfect for anyone looking for a wedding dress that’s more fashion, less bridal. Lana’s dress looks to be a custom version of CINQ’s The River gown from the label’s Spring 2025 collection. The dress features scalloped lace ruffle neckline complete with flutter sleeves and a swooshy silk tulle skirt. Lana finished the look perfectly with a curly side-ponytail tied with a pale blue silk ribbon and a petite bouquet.

Not only did Lana choose a wedding dress that is pop culture perfect, but she opted for a wedding day that was incredibly bespoke and totally her. Today’s gen of nearlyweds are all about having a party that’s stepping outside the norm, delivering surprises, and having an event that perfectly aligns with who they are as a couple. As seemingly weird as this wedding was, it actually was very much the moment and so very Lana—that’s is what makes her such an iconic bride.
