Selena Gomez made a serious style statement on the red carpet at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles at the 2026 Golden Globes on Sunday January 11, 2026. Gomez was a picture of elegance in a floor length Chanel dress that reportedly took the French label over 320 hours to make.
Gomez’s strapless Chanel gown was embellished with about 200 embroidered elements, and the custom bustier dress, which ripped into a dramatic V shape at the back, blossomed with feathers, silk chiffon and silk organza. Between the construction and the detailed embroidery, it took the Chanel atelier a combined 323 hours to create the dress.
The singer and actor completed the black velvet look with Chanel jewelry — including huge diamond-encrusted earrings and several rings — and a pair of black pointy-toe slingbacks only visible as she lifted the floor-length dress to walk along the red carpet.
Gomez also sported glamorous bob hairstyle, black nail polish and classic red lipstick.
Gomez was nominated (for the fourth consecutive year) for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series–Musical or Comedy Award for her role as Mabel Mora in Only Murders in the Building. While Gomez won on the red carpet she didn’t take home the Globe…Jean Smart ultimately won her third Golden Globe in the category for her role in Hacks.
As for Chanel, the 2026 Golden Globes mark French-Belgian designer Matthieu Blazy’s first awards season since his debut at the storied fashion house.
