We all have one. A style blogger we follow religiously, whether it’s by visiting their website every day or reading their Twitter updates every minute on the minute. They teach us real-life fashion lessons and prove being stylish isn’t just for models.
From Emily of Cupcakes and Cashmere to Aimee of Song of Style, here are 5 accessory trends this pro bloggers have taught us that you have to try!
Ring Envy
You’ve probably seen this finger craze on Aimee Song’s (blogger behind Song of Style) Instagram page if you follow her like I do. With as many as two to three rings packed on finger, this fashion savvy blogger -who is also an amazing Interior Decorator, by the way – shows her fans that piling on rings of different shapes, sizes, colors and designs can make your hand look amazing, and not look like you’re playing dress-up. Try out this trend yourself by investing in different ring styles and don’t think of it as excess, but rather a unique opportunity to accessorize your otherwise bare hands.
Arm Swag
Similar to wearing plenty of rings, wearing all you can on your arm is definite accessory must this season. Popular among style trendsetter bloggers like Julie of Sincerely Jules and Blair Eadie of Atlantic-Pacific, combining various arm candy like sophisticated watches, gold link bracelets and colorful cuffs has become the new way to take a look for blah to beautiful. The key to this trend is to not think too much about piling it on – instead create the effect of a lot with different textures, colors, patterns and unique pieces.
Embellished shades
When Emily of Cupcakes and Cashmere did a DIY post on how to make your own embellished sunglasses (you can see the post here) I was immediately in love. Known for her ability to make almost anything, the accomplished writer and entrepreneur put a spin on this otherwise simple staple. Even if you don’t want to design your own pair (even though it would be super fun!), this spring is the perfect time to think outside of the box and get a pair of blinged out sunglasses for a fresh, new look.
Oversized necklaces
This may not be a new styling trend, but the way Andy from Style Scrapbook wears oversized chains is so effortlessly chic, this needs to be included on the list. We all know wearing standout baubles or jewel-encrusted chains is as easy as putting them on, but you also need to make sure you’re wearing them right. Follow Andy’s cues and pair the sophisticated jewelry with a basic top and complimenting bottom so your genius accessory styling skills are not overlooked.
Fancy Nail Art
Nail art is to beauty as clothes are to a stylist and many bloggers are showing us that decking out your nails in the most artistic ways does not require an esthetician. Of course, it will take practice but the more different colors and designs you try, the better and more confident you’ll feel taking on more nail trends and be sure to think outside of the box like Starbucks inspired nails – which I’ve actually seen and love, by the way!
