This is the season to fall back in love with makeup. The obsession with all things Euphoria, and the show’s iconic glittery makeup looks are proof positive we are ready to have fun with makeup again in a big way.
The beauty looks presented on Spring 2022 fashion runways were bold. Graphic eye liner, red lipstick and colourful eyeshadows are all spring makeup musts. You can choose to take you look maximalist by combining multiple spring makeup trends (this is not a season of subtleties), or wear each as a single beauty statement maker.
Crimson Lips
Bold lipstick is back and we could not be happier to see it. Designers from Michael Kors to Saint Laurent featured runway models sporting red lips paired with simple hair and flawless skin. Let’s also point to Rhianna on her recent bump-baring tour of fashion month in Europe where she regularly rocked a red lip. This spring, try a soft matte formula lipstick that errs on the orange side of red for spring for an ultra-fresh look.

Creative Eyeliner
This has been trending for a few seasons, but this spring is a particularly artistic one with liner being applied in all matter of cool ways. Dramatic swoops of black, white and coloured eyeliners along the upper and lower lash line is huge. For a super-fun punky vibe, focus just on dramatic undereye liner. Wing liner to the outer edge of your eyes to create a seriously striking look.

Radiant Skin
We’re all addicted to the glow up, and this season lit-from-within skin is still the foundation (pun intended) of every spring makeup look. Practicing a plumping and perfecting skincare routine will get you half the way there; an amazing base will finish the job. Charlotte Tilbury’s just launched Beautiful Skin Foundation (available in 30 shades) is the perfecting product of the year, a light-weight buildable foundation packed with Hyaluronic Acid.

Neon Eyeshadow
Throwing back to the ‘80s is always a good idea, and there were retro-inspired neon makeup looks seen on runways including Chloé, Versace and Proenza Schouler. How you choose to wear your neon is totally on you. For a softer statement, apply a veil of colour to lids to create an electric watercolor effect. If you want to go full pop, build eyeshadow to a high-wattage intensity, and smudge it along your lower lash line too.

Naturally Amplified Lashes
We’re going back to basics with eyelashes this spring, which means using a great mascara to lengthen and volumize. It’s time to retire heavy eyelash extensions, and overly fluffy false eyelashes, in favour of a more natural, glossy look. MAC Cosmetics has just dropped a crazy amazing new mascara that literally works lash miracles. MACStack was two years in the making, and has two formulas which you can use in tandem to pump up and detail every single itty-bitty eyelash.
