If summer’s blue skies, sunny rays and joie de vivre could be bottled, Oscar de la Renta’s new Bella Soleil Eau de Parfum might be it.
This newest addition to the brand’s Bella fragrance family—which includes Bella Blanca, Rosa, Essence, Bouquet and Tropicale—feels like a golden hour stroll through the late Dominican-American designer’s own lush gardens. Vibrant, sundrenched and undeniably joyful, Bella Soleil is made for summer, and wearable well beyond it.
On first spritz, a tantalizing burst of juicy mango, tropical citrus and prickly pear waft forward. Fresh and sweet it is playful, yet elegant all at the same time. As the notes settle, a luminous floral bouquet comprised of tiger orchid, jasmine sambac and osmanthus blooms arise, evoking a sense of warmth and wonder with a hint of nostalgia. Last but certainly not least, a rich blend of vetiver, amber and musk notes melt into the skin, leaving behind a soft, sun-warmed trail that’s both comforting and sensual.
“The display was a kaleidoscope of dreamy colours and accents,” says Givaudan perfumer Nicole Mancini, who created the fragrance, drawing inspiration from the 2022 orchid exhibition at the New York Botanical Garden, curated by floral artist Jeff Leatham. “A true feast of delights to the senses.”
Captured in the signature Bella bottle, this time adorned with textured flowers bathed in marigold yellow—as a nod to the eau’s star note, tiger orchid, and to its coveted summertime mood. After all, where else can you spritz a scent so sunny it feels like it glows.
