Fragrance Of The Month: Chloé Nomade Nuit D’Égypte EDP

We’re life-long Chloé loyalists. It started in the mid ‘80s with our first spritz of the French fashion house’s eponymous parfum. Then known as Parfums Lagerfeld’s amber hued Parfum Chloé, circa 1975, the heady, white floral eau made us feel like we could do and be anything.

We’ve never lost that loving feeling and are experiencing its heartfelt pull again with Chloé’s new Nomade Nuit D’Égypte eau de parfum. Where white blooms once reigned in Chloé’s original liquid (and on our decolletage), this latest addition to the brand’s Nomade line is a sultry juxtaposition of sweet flora intertwined with exotic spices and earthy aromas.

Opening with fiery myrrh, cinnamon and ginger, the scent transports us to mystical times, before the sweet, honeyed pool of broom flower nectar and Egyptian orange blossoms, touched with a hint of animalic kyphi, wafts over us. Mossy cypriol oil, sensual vanilla and warm opopanax provide a grounded, earthy feel that is as intimate as it is empowering. The overall effect is opulent, alluring and timeless.

Poured into Nomade’s iconic O-shaped and weighty glass bottle, this new elixir exudes adventure, while its gold capped finishes tied with a deep blue braid pay homage to Egypt’s fragrant path. The age-old land is, if rumour is truth, the birthplace of perfume and where Nuit D’Égypte’s star note kyphi was born. Either way, we’re in—the eau is a Chloé after all.

Chloé Nomade Nuit D’Égypte eau de parfum, $137 for 50 ml and $171 for 75 ml, available at Shoppers Drug Mart.
