The best time to test a moisturizing shampoo? The middle of a frigid Canadian winter, of course! Our Beauty Panel put Aveeno’s Positively Nourishing Moisturize Shampoo and Conditioner (available at drug and mass merchandiser nationwide, $8.99 each) to the test in our latest review. Clinical results have revealed that 92 percent of women’s hair looked healthier, showed improvement in management and felt more moisturized when using this combo, so we decided to see if our results were the same. Read on to hear what each of our experts thought of the formula that promises to absorb more moisture and clean hair like never before.

I had vowed to myself on January 1, 2015, I was going to give up the blow-dryer, toss the flat iron and only wash my hair max, twice a week, to start bringing it back from a dry, brittle state to a healthier place. When I failed on January 2, by some divine intervention, Aveeno's Positively Nourishing Moisturize Shampoo and Conditioner landed on my desk. Claims of bringing my hair "back to life" coupled with ingredients like wheat germ oil and oat proteins swirled in my head during the trial period of three washes I committed to give this stuff a real chance. The results are definitely smoother, softer hair but without the lackluster look that some moisturizing hair care often delivers. No heavy residue, no flyaways, just healthier hair than when I began the year. Although I'm still trying to put down the styling tools, I'm feeling much more confident that washing with this combo is putting my hair in a happy, hydrated state to take all the damage I know I'll keep throwing at it.

As a blonde, my hair is brittle, dry and over processed. I'm constantly on the hunt for shampoos and conditioners that with any luck will “bring life back” to my locks. I recently tried the Aveeno Positively Nourishing Hair Care Collection and can't sing its praises enough. The set not only smells amazing, but they create a very soft, luxurious lather when you rub these products onto your hair. My hair felt softer immediately and wasn't a struggle to brush after I got out of the shower (a huge win for someone with long, dry hair). I also noticed that my hair held a beautiful shine after I washed and styled it. Nothing but great things to say about these products!

The good news: I went into this thinking, "Oh cool! New things to try!" The better: During the week I tried said things, I got struck down with a doom-cold, which left me looking like the Hill Witch, but far worse and less beautiful (30 Rock reference — don't leave me hanging, friends).
So I used the shampoo (which was fine), then the conditioner — which (allow for collective gasp) was better than fine. My hair didn't look like straw when I blow-dried it. I didn't feel like the conditioner disappeared as soon as I brushed my hair. AND BETTER YET: I could actually get a brush through my hair after I removed it from DIY towel-hat. We did it, everyone. I still look like the Hill Witch, but a more beautiful one.
Winter is a struggle for my beauty routine. Take summer’s products and add a dozen new serums, masks and moisturizers. The heat that blasts through our office (we have very big windows/very little insolation) dries out my scalp and skin to a state that is beyond repair, or that’s what I thought. I’ve been itching my scalp since the chill began in November and I can say that since I’ve added Aveeno’s Positively Nourishing Moisturize Shampoo and Conditioner to my routine I haven’t had even the slightest itch. Not only does it smooth out my tresses, making brushing and styling easier, my hair didn’t get greasy within 24 hours like it usually does, which makes this my new go-to shower combo. Also, at a recent event I was receiving compliments at how my hair shined, which has not been an adjective I’ve heard when describing my hair in too long.
