Emma Stone sparkled when she walked the red carpet at the 98th annual Academy Awards on Sunday evening in a shimmering hand-embroidered empire-cut gown from Louis Vuitton. The ethereal white sequin dress featured a modest square neckline, a sexy backless design, and unexpected cap sleeves. Notably the beading on the dress was so intricate, that it took over 600 hours of work.
Stone paired the custom Louis Vuitton dress with dainty diamond huggies and an ear cuff that peeked out from under her side-parted bob tucked behind one of her ears.
It was the perfect gown for the evening and to finish off Stone’s fashionable awards season. It’s been a big one for the actress, who has been widely recognized for her performance in the sci-fi thriller Bugonia. The star has referred to her role in the movie as one of the most “physically challenging” she’s had, yet she’s described the entire filming experience as “amazing.”
At this year’s ceremony, Stone was up for a Best Actress award for her work in Bugonia, which ultimately went to Jessie Buckley for her role as Agnes in Hamnet. However, the nomination marked Stone’s fourth Academy Award nomination after earning nods for Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance), The Favourite, La La Land, and Poor Things—winning for the latter two.
