Celine Dion made her return to the red carpet alongside her son René-Charles Angélil for a screening of her new documentary in New York City. The legendary pop singer’s appearance marked her first red carpet outing since her stiff-person syndrome (SPS) diagnosis was made public.
Dion looked radiant at the NYC event for I Am: Celine Dion, an upcoming Prime Video documentary that goes inside her life as a legendary performer and also chronicles her battle with the rare neurological disorder.
Dion stunned wearing an elegant white long-sleeved pussybow blouse from Dior, that was tucked into a white maxi skirt, also from the French fashion house. She accessorized with a crystal Dior belt, two pearl bracelets, and matching pearl stud earrings. René-Charles, her eldest child with late husband René Angélil who died from throat cancer in 2016, opted for a slick black suit.
I Am: Celine Dion is described as “a love letter to her fans” with snippets from Dion’s career as well as confessional-style interviews.
“My voice is the conductor of my life,” Dion says, adding that recently “it’s been a struggle” to do what she loves most due to her condition, which causes muscle spasms. Dion also shares that she’s working hard to return to the stage one day despite her illness.
“If I can’t run, I’ll walk. If I can’t walk, I’ll crawl. And I won’t stop. I won’t stop,” she says in a clip.
I Am: Celine Dion is available for streaming on Prime Video beginning June 25th. Stay tuned to read 29Secrets review of the must-see documentary on Monday!
