Max has finally released the official trailer for season 3 of And Just Like That…, debuting Thursday, May 29 on the streaming platform and on Crave in Canada. The 12-episode season is set to be filled with work crushes, new possibilities, a group of rats scattered throughout Carrie’s backyard, and blank postcards from Virginia that might be a sign of the possible reigniting of an old flame.
“There’s nothing like summer in New York City with its hot days and even hotter nights,” Carrie says wistfully in the trailer. “Something new and unexpected always awaits.”
For season 3, And Just Like That… is adding several luminaries to the cast, including Rosie O’Donnell, Patti LuPone and Kristen Schaal. Prior to that, though, there was a mini cast exodus, with Sara Ramírez (the show’s love-to-hate comedian Che Diaz) leaving the show last February and Karen Pittman (Miranda’s professor and friend Nya Wallace) following suit a month later.
At the end of the second season, Carrie Bradshaw had decided to give up her iconic Upper East Side apartment, which she’d lived in during Sex and the City, and moved back into during the first season of And Just Like That after her husband, Big (Chris Noth) died. Before moving to Gramercy Park, she had one last dinner party at the apartment, having said a temporary goodbye to Aidan (John Corbett), who had asked her to wait for him (for five years!) so he could take care of his kids at home in Virginia. Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) got a new job at the Human Rights Watch, and Charlotte (Kristin Davis) decided to return to the workforce, since her kids are more self-sufficient now, and got a job at an art gallery. In the final scene of season two, which aired in August 2023, viewers saw Carrie ordering a Cosmopolitan on a beach in Greece.
