Here's What Taylor Swift Had To Say About Ending Her Eras Tour In Canada

It’s been a long time coming. Taylor Swift’s long awaited return to Canada, more than six years after her last time in the country, hit like a hurricane this week with the pop star kicking off six sold-out shows at the Rogers Centre in Toronto. Swift is performing six shows in Toronto before heading to Vancouver, the final stop in her record-breaking Eras Tour.

Swift kicked off the Canadian leg of her tour on Thursday November 14 at the Rogers Centre in Toronto with thousands of screaming fans singing along to her marathon 45-song set.

“Toronto, we are sooo back!” she said to roaring applause.

Swift also took a moment to explain to fans why she chose to end her worldwide tour in Canada.

“Here in 2024 we have taken the Eras Tour all over the world,” she said to the crowd at the Rogers Centre. “We went to Asia. We went to Australia. We spent all summer in Europe… swung back through America and the we thought… you know what? If we’re going to bring the Eras Tour to a close — which we are, in nine shows — I was thinking, you know, I really want to spend those last shows with the most generous, encouraging, welcoming, passionate, excitable fans. So we came to see you in Toronto.”

Toronto greeted Swift with open arms. Police horses had friendship bracelets draped around their necks. A 140-foot inflatable bracelet — made by artist Shawn Kolodny in New Orleans — was sent via Indianapolis’s Lucas Oil Stadium to Toronto’s Rogers Centre.

In the ultimate friendship bracelet exchange, the art will more than likely make its way to BC Place Stadium in Vancouver.

Swift will perform again in Toronto tonight, and next Thursday through Saturday, November 21, 22, and 23. She will then conclude the global tour at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver after three consecutive concerts on December 6, 7, and 8.
