How was this show only on for one season?! From infidelity to gender identification, sex to alcohol and drugs, to the epitome of school crushes (Jordan Catalano 4EVER), My So Called Life was an authentic voice for teenagers. More so, it was the budding friendship of safe-shy Angela and wild child Rayanne. These two had a lot of ups and downs with each often being impenitent to one another, yet they somehow figured it out. Chances are you resonated with one (or both) of these characters, they were pretty spot on and that’s what drew us in. Sure there were other parts to the saga (i.e. Angela’s former BFF, Sharon), but the ongoing trials fought in and out of school always saw Angela and Rayanne as its muses. It was also nice to see their respective mothers playing important roles in the show, highlighting the mother-daughter relationships that hits close to home for many.
