Summer’s Fairytale-inspired Beauty Looks

The carefree days of summer have a way of making us all feel like the stars of our very own beauty fairytale. Read on for your best look.

Goldie Locks
Highlight your hair
at home with natural remedies for brighter and more sun kissed locks. Try lemon juice, honey, blonde beer or cool chamomile tea for platinum streaks and a champagne shine. Or for darker shades apply olive oil and sit in the sun to add colour and moisture to your summer strands.

Sleeping Beauty
Look well-rested even when you’re not with a few fast fixes from your own kitchen. Get rid of dark eye circles with warm tea bags and de-puff with a cold compress; try cold cucumbers and potatoes over your eyes and cool your favourite moisturizer in the fridge for the night. Exfoliate with baking soda and oatmeal followed by a homemade avocado mask, and rid red eye with eye drops-always checking with your pharmacist first. A powder with some sparkle will complete your refreshing shimmer.

Snow-White

Soak up some sun and yet stay the fairest of the land by protecting your skin with dermatologist recommended sunscreen-Aveeno, La Roche-Posay and Ombrelle are among some trusted brands. A minimum of SPF 15 is advised but you can go as high as 60 SPF with most of today’s popular products. Choose from lotions, sprays and sticks for your own personal comfort and opt for chemical-free choices if you have sensitive skin. There are also a variety of tanning moisturizers that will gradually give your skin a warmer glow without having to step foot in the sun.

The Little Mermaid
Wake up to wavy beach babe hair by braiding it the night before. A few large braids will give you volume and smaller braids will crimp your hair. You can also add mousse to clean and damp hair, separating it into twisted strands-as it dries it should loosen and curl providing a sexy, messy beach-inspired do. Finish off with water-proof mascara, clear lip gloss and a pedicure.

Rapunzel
Keep your hair long and strong amidst inevitable summer damage by protecting it before and after severe sun exposure. Aggressive brushing to wet hair can cause split ends so be gentle with a comb and leave in conditioner. Breakage is more common with overly styled hair so avoid blow dryers this summer to minimize trim trips to the salon. Live happily ever after with a natural shine from Moroccanoil or your favourite hair repair serum.

I will put my moisturizers in the fridge. Thanks Lindsay – This article should be placed on the front page of the Newspaper for all the young ladies out their spending their money on chemically induced products to get the same effect.
