It should, citric acid is a popular alpha hydroxy acid, favoured in skin care. So when it comes to your hair and this mask, it kind of works the same way and has similar hydrating, soothing and softening results as a facial mask would.
Here’s how it works. The mask’s concentrated formula penetrates the hair to strengthen and repair its bonds, which then stabilize the keratin protein that makes up each of our hair strands. The bonds in each hair strand are what create our hair’s shape, strength, elasticity and shine. But when they’re damaged, courtesy of chemical services like hair colour and highlights, pollution, heat from blow dryers, curling irons and flat irons, and chlorine, they become dehydrated and can break and split.
