When it comes to men and makeup, we like to have options. (It’s why we’re on Tinder, Hinge and Coffee Meets Bagel.) It’s also why we’re wearing Lip Lab’s Sketch & Shade Precision Cream Lip Liner in “Mauve Motif,” all day every day all over our mouth. Well, at least we are today.
Yesterday, we wore the lippie as a liner and smeared a little tinted lip balm over top. The day before that we wore it solo, just around the edges of our lips and kept the inner parts bare. Today, we’ve lined our lips and filled in the blank spaces for a monochromatic look. It’s simple to apply too. The velvety matte liner features an angled tip that gives us the precision we need to make sure it goes where we want it to without wandering, as well as offering an easy glide for days like today when we’re working an all-over shade.
And it feels good. Each of the brand’s six shades—“Romantic Rose” a soft pink, “Tonal Taupe” a light brown, “Baraoque Blush” a warm natural pink, “Modern Mocha” a warm deep brown, “Realist Red” a blue-toned classic red, and our current favourite “Mauve Motif” a deep plum brown—is infused with silky soft oils for a smooth finish. Their formula is clean, vegan and cruelty free too, so we don’t feel the least bit guilty for owning all six colours and rotating them regularly. We like to keep our options open.
