Meghan Markle And Her Makeup Artist Shared All The Beauty Products She Used On Her Wedding Day

On a recent episode of the “Breaking Beauty” podcast, Meghan Markle’s makeup artist, Daniel Martin, revealed all of the beauty products that he used to achieve Markle’s elegant bridal beauty look when she married Prince Harry on Saturday May 19, 2018 at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.

Markle’s minimal makeup look, which showed off her freckles, caught the Internet’s attention back in 2018 when more than 29 million people watched the royal wedding.

“It was basically a lot of Tatcha,” Martin told hosts Jill Dunn and Carlene Higgins, adding that her “whole face was pretty much Dior Backstage.”

Because the celebrity makeup artist had a beauty contract with Dior at the time, he primarily used the brand’s Backstage products — which were new to the market in 2018 — to perfect her complexion.

According to the Martin, Markle’s big-day lip combo consisted of a pale pink Dior Addict Lip Glow over MAC Cool Spice Lip Liner.

“I’m a diehard MAC lip liner devotee,” Martin said on the podcast.

As for complexion products, Martin didn’t name-check specifics — but those products were revealed in Markle’s recently launched ShopMy page.

Martin also encouraged brides to follow the Duchess of Sussex’s lead when it comes to low-key wedding day makeup.

“The last thing you want [is] to look at your wedding pictures and go, ‘Remember when highlighting was the rage?’ ” he explained. “At the end of the day, you want to look like your best self.”

The Wedding Edit

Earlier this month Markle launched a ShopMy page, a customizable storefront where influencers can post their recommended products. Her page is described as “A handpicked and curated collection of the things I love – I hope you enjoy them!” (Although the recommendations throughout the store are free to view, a disclaimer on her site states that some products ‘may contain commissionable links’, meaning she’ll get a cut from the sale.)

Following the episode of the “Breaking Beauty” podcast with Martin, Markle added different products from Dior, Tatcha and MAC to a section titled ‘The Wedding Edit’ in her online store. She then wrote on Instagram stories, “Many of you have asked, so here you go! A little shopping to start the week. More to come.”

“The Wedding Edit” page shows the beauty products that Martin used to achieve Markle’s minimal wedding day look. The products used were: Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist, Tatcha The Dewy Skin Cream, Dior Backstage Face & Body Foundation, Dior Backstage Concealer, Dior Backstage Glow Face Palette, Dior Backstage Rosy Glow Blush, Dior Diorshow Pump‘N’Volume Mascara, Dior Addict Lip Glow Balm, and a MAC Lip Pencil in Spice.

“I’m always going to be that person, how some people are, I’m always going to be Meghan Markle’s makeup artist for the rest of my life,” Martin said a few years ago. “Which is totally fine because we’re friends. I think if we didn’t have a personal connection, it would definitely be different.”

Martin remains close to the Duchess of Sussex. He appeared on her new series With Love, Meghan, which premiered on Netflix on March 4, and she revealed on the show that her children, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3, call him “Uncle Daniel.”
