Is there anything better than a perfume, like Kylie Cosmetic’s Kylie Jenner Cosmic, that lists its notes right on the side of its box? We don’t think so and should mention that this is an uncommon practice in the world of perfumery, as well. But then again, Jenner stands alone, a rare force in the industry (seriously, how many teenagers launch a mega-successful beauty brand and can sustain it into their 20s?). And her new eau de parfum keeps pace and is right on brand.
A sweet and musky fusion of flowers and spice, Cosmic opens with rich and heady star jasmine intertwined with tangy and juicy blood orange. Notes of golden amber and spicy red peony follow before being swirled into a blend of warm and sensual vanilla musk accord and cedarwood. The overall effect is other worldly (yup, we went there) with a vibrancy that feels both bold and private all at the same time.
Its bottle is unusual as well. A heavy, cylindrical glass flacon with squished in spots along the sides that hit just the rights places to enable it to meld into your hand, making the fragrance super easy to pick up and spritz on. A round silver cap completes the aesthetic, picking up all of the light in the room to reflect sparks colour which, in our earthly opinion, tops off the idea that this scent is a cosmic creation.
