As someone who now owns three of Tom Ford’s Lips & Boys lipsticks (Zayn, Leonardo, and Drake, thank you), trust me when I tell you I am psyched as hell about Charlotte Tilbury’s upcoming lipstick line: Hot Lips, a collection of 12 shades named for women Charlotte herself admires. Best part? Proceeds will be donated to Women for Women International, which is a charity that helps victims of poverty, war, and political conflict.
As for who the lipsticks are named after? Get set: Miranda Kerr, Nicole Kidman, Salma Hayek, Kate Bosworth, Laura Bailey, Cindy Crawford, Helena Bonham-Carter, Liv Tyler, Emily Ratakjowski, Carina Lau, Poppy Delevingne, and Km Kardashian West. Bless us everyone.
“Lipstick is POWERFUL,” Tilbury said in a statement. “It has the ability to change your state of mind: It can boost your confidence, pick you up when you’re feeling down, re-energize you, add instant glamour to any outfit and immediately enhance your beauty — there’s happiness in every tube!”
“With Hot Lips I want to celebrate the mood-enhancing power of lipstick by creating a shade that captures the personality of each of the 12 incredible women that I admire, and in so doing raise awareness for an amazing charity, Women for Women.”
So this is cool! I can get behind this! (Imagine I couldn’t? I’d be a legitimate monster.) Especially after knowing that Helena Bonham-Carter named her own lip colour, and that Kim’s is based on some mid-sixties vibes.
“I really admire each of the women that inspired Hot Lips and with them, I want to spread the powerful feel-good factor a gorgeous new lip shade gives,” Tilbury continued. “I have extracted their beauty DNA, mixing colours that really embody their style and personality, encapsulated it and am now giving it to everyone! Wear with confidence.”
Now, am I going to get them all? I mean . . . maybe. Probably, yes, I will. I just bought lime green lipstick yesterday, so honestly it’d be concerning if I didn’t pick them up. And plus, it will be June, and by the time June rolls around, I will hate all the lipstick I currently own (because this is who I am as a person) and I will need more. Also, everyone knows that if you wear a celebrity’s lipstick, they become your friends.
And while I know that is just a straight-up lie, I don’t care because it’s Friday and I need something to believe in, please just let me have this. TGIF.
