Last night’s American Music Awards had the internet buzzing. Miley Cyrus celebrated her 21st birthday with a peculiar singing cat performance, TLC reunited with Lil Mama standing in for Left Eye, JLo brought down the house with a tribute to Celia Cruz and Lady Gaga and R. Kelly’s “American-themed” routine left little to the imagination. The show was truly entertaining, and so were the stars incredible looks. Here are some of our favourite beauty moments from the 2013 American Music Awards:
Naya Rivera
Big hair, don’t care. Naya had one of our favourite looks of the night. Her voluminous locks were a great balance to her simple and sultry Michael Kors gown. We like that she kept her lip colour nude, as a vibrant lip might have made her look too overdone.
Taylor Swift
T-Swift’s transformation continues to evolve; she stepped out last night in a sexy Julien Macdonald dress and tousled tresses. Her gold smokey eye played up her pretty blue eyes.
Lady Gaga
Gaga showed off the identical look from her new Versace campaign on the AMAs red carpet. Her long blond hair was an ode to Donatella Versace.
Katy Perry
Katy opened the show with a geisha-inspired performance of her new track Unconditional. Her red carpet look on the other hand was very different. She rocked a retro look – wave hair, lengthy lashes, and bright red lips.
Ariana Grande
Best New Artist, Ariana Grande, was last night’s belle of the ball. Her performance was flawless and so was her red carpet beauty. Although she does wear the same hairstyle pretty much always, it suits her!
Rihanna
It was truly Rihanna’s night yesterday as she accepted the first ever AMA Icon Award. She also debuted a new hairstyle. Her hair was wrapped around her head and secured with bobby pins. We’re not sure how long she’ll keep this look, but we liked it!
Miley Cyrus
Possibly the most anticipated performer of the night, Miley Cyrus continued her all-white trend with a white suit on the red carpet. Her hair and makeup were simple to compliment her monochromatic look.
