Cold weather hairstyle #1: Braids

You don’t want to create any extra bulk on your head that will make it difficult to wear a hat, says Ford. So stick to buns that hang out around the nape of your neck. This is where a makeshift crown braid can really work. Create two braids on either side of your head that finish at the nape, says Ford. Then, wrap the ends of each braid on the opposite side just behind the ear and secure with bobby pins. Your hat won’t mess too much with your handiwork, and it will look great all day with an added dose of hairspray.
