Keeping Energy Levels Up During the Fall/Winter

With the turn of seasons and the arrival of Fall and shortly, winter, you aren’t alone if you’ve noticed your energy levels waning of late.

It’s tough to find motivation to get to the gym after work or head out with friends when it’s dark as night at 5 p.m. However, if a lack of energy is an issue during the chilly months, there are some small things you can do that will have a big impact in that department:

Sleep:
That’s right. Get your full eight hours of REM a night. Not only will you look better, you’ll feel better too. And at 2pm when everyone’s energy is draining in the office, you’ll still be bustling along.

Eat Right:
There’s noting like sustaining a balanced, healthy diet. If you get the right balance of carbs, proteins and veggies, you will be doing your body a huge favour and giving it the right fuel it needs to get you through your day.

Supplements:
We know it’s really hard to eat right all the time and even if you do, sometimes you aren’t going to be bang on in terms of getting all of your vitamins, so check in with your family doctor to see if you should be added supplements or vitamins to your daily diet.

Exercise:
It’s sometimes tough to get out the door and commit to a spin class for an hour but once you are there and you’ve done it, little feels better. So squeeze in some daily exercise into your busy schedule “ you’ll notice it gives you a boost of real energy.

Down time:
Setting aside some time for yourself or just relaxing with family and friends can be a challenge when most of us have a million things on the go. But taking some time each week to recharge your battery will ensure your energy levels stay constant.
