Toronto Fashion Week: Joe Fresh Spring/Summer 2014

Always one of the most anticipated runway shows at Toronto’s World MasterCard Fashion Week, once again, Joe Fresh did not disappoint.  We were worried after seeing a plethora of white monochromatic collections all week that Joe Fresh would follow suit. Instead, the spring line had pops of beautiful midnight blues, Chinese reds and orchid pinks to cheer us up.

“This season, we refined the essence of the brand,” said creative director Joe Mimran. “Functionality as the new chic has become the Joe Fresh guideline.  The collection is sexy and cool while maintaining a classic refined look.”

Joe Fresh’s Spring/Summer 2014 collection drew inspiration from earthy textiles and artist N. Dash’s works. Textiles included denim, croc leather, silk twill and lacquered lace. Beautiful Asian-inspired looks included Chinoiserie prints. Another stand out print was the blue and white zebra. The show had a little something for everyone’s taste, including pant suits, baseball jackets and miniskirts and jeans.

Famous Canadian models Alana Zimmer and Heather Marks walked the runway. Something we’ve come to expect from the show every season. Makeup was simple, with bold eyebrows and flawless skin. “When you look at this girl’s bushy eyebrows and beautiful skin, it’s obvious that this is a girl who takes care of herself,” said Maybelline New  York Lead Makeup Artist, Grace Lee. “She’s refreshed and well maintained – a regular spa-goer. Her look just screams ‘FRESH!’”

The collection is sure to be a hit in stores next season!
