8 Of The Best Swimsuits That Are Beyond Basic

If you’ve been on Instagram even once in the last couple of months, you know that life is infinitely better in a bathing suit. Seriously, it seems like swimsuits are the only thing anyone ever wears, so it might be time to trade in that sad, misshapen bathing suit from, like, four years ago for something more modern. If you’re not sure where to start, we’ve got you covered! Or, you know, not covered.

The Deep-V One-Piece ($160) in Peach Vanilla from Canadian swimwear brand Bikini Empire is more than your usual one-piece bathing suit. It has a deep neckline, a low back and a cheeky bum. It’s even reversible”peach on one side, vanilla on the other.

The Sofia Top and Amber Brief ($155) from Canadian swimwear brand Gattina, were made for girls that like to stand out with its lace-up top and off-the-shoulder sleeves. It even has a bit of an early 2000s throwback feel, which we love.

Want to make a serious statement? Do it in the Callie Top and Cruzan Bottom ($105) from Reese, with mesh, cutouts and straps. Probably not the best bathing suit for a laidback beach day but perfect for making an impression at a pool party. If the Callie Top isn’t available (it’s on sale and may sell out), try the strapless Laguna Top, which is equally sexy.

Soak up some sun and turn heads in the Oasis Suit ($215) in Saffron from Minimale Animale. With its sizzling orange-yellow hue and super, super high cut bottom, being “covered up” never looked so hot.

If you’re a print lover, the Ophelia Top ($88) and Delphi Bottoms ($86) in the Lotus Pond print from Canadian swimwear brand, Minnow, are decidedly different. This special edition suit features a motif from a painting by artist Darby Milbrath that looks wonderfully romantic, and we love the retro feel of the high-waist bottoms.

A suede bikini? We say, why not? We’re obsessed with the Romy Bikini Top ($63) and the Daisy Bikini Bottom ($53), both in Sand Suede, from Canadian swimwear brand, June, because, well, they’re made of super-comfortable suede. We also think the soft nude shade would look gorgeous with sun-kissed skin.

The Knot Top ($130) and Naomi Bottom ($100) in Heathered Grey from Canadian swimwear designer Beth Richards look effortlessly cool with its tied-up t-shirt look”especially since Khloe Kardashian rocked the top on Instagram.

It doesn’t get much more elegant than the Alexandra suit ($158) from Solid and Striped with it’s deep neck, sleek, black body and nude, criss-crossed straps. The only thing that could make this one-piece more sophisticated? A glass of rosé©.
