Announcing: Lilly Pulitzer for Target

We did it, everyone! We survived November, the holidays, and now we're being held in the waiting arms of -20-degree weather, looking anxiously forward to a new collaboration with Target. (Or, a day where your car doors aren't frozen shut. Either, or.)

Fortunately our time has come. At an event in New York City last night, it was revealed that Target will be collaborating with Lilly Pulitzer, who'll be giving us an interpretation of resort wear with a collection of 15 prints across 250 pieces, all unique and designed by Pulitzer. The line will launch on April 19, and will include apparel, accessories, shoes, home accents, outdoor entertaining, and beach gear. (Plus more. Seriously.)

"This spring, we wanted to offer our guests a collection that embraced colour, print, and pattern in a bold, fresh way," said Stacia Anderson, senior vice president, apparel and accessories at Target. "As we started to think about the perfect partner to collaborate with, Lilly Pulitzer was the clear choice given the brand's inspiring heritage, authority with print, pattern, and resort-chic aesthetic."

For a little background info, the late Pulitzer founded the label in 1959 after she created bright, beautifully-patterned outfits to wear while selling juice (courtesy of her husband's citrus groves) at a juice stand on the road. Naturally, people loved her look, so in addition to juice, she started selling her pieces, officially launching the resortwear movement. (And earning a fan in Jackie Kennedy, too.) Her motto? "Style isn't about what you wear, it's about how you live."

Glad to see Target is running with that. Please everyone enjoy how many of Lilly Pulitzer's patterns I'll be wearing simultaneously over the spring and summer.
