Tips to Grow Your Hair Out

UK-based celeb hairstylist Stuart Phillips knows what it takes to care for your hair. Here, we asked him how to deal with that annoying in-between stage when you’re trying to grow out your hair.

1. To grow, or not to grow
Before you make that choice to skip out on your regular cut and style, you need to consider whether long tresses suit you. Have a goal length in mind,” says Phillips,  if you have a long and slim face, growing hair too long will only make it look longer.  Your hairdresser should have the foresight (and courtesy) to let you know if longer hair will actually look good.

Plus certain hair types take twice as long to grow out, curly hair is the most difficult because it tends to grow outwards before down.  Therefore gals with natural movement and texture in their locks will need to be patient to get the results they want.

Although you may think that letting your hair grow without visiting the salon is a good idea, it’s essential to get a trim so ends don’t look limp. Trims keep your hair’s outline in a strong shape, says Phillips.

2. Easy Styles for the in-between stage
The obvious option is a ponytail, but remember you can be creative by placing it more to one side, or creating two ponytails side by side. Just work within your comfort zone and make sure the look fits your personal sense of style. Another option is to create textured twists in your hair using two flat irons. Place a flat irons on the roots of your hair and turn the iron with your wrists. As you turn, very slowly pull the iron through your hair. Once the iron reach the ends of your hair, with your hands turn the piece of hair into a twist.

3. From Day to Night
When you’re getting ready for a night on the town you want your hair to look extra special. Evening styles are always a little harder to do, so you will need a little more patience, warns Phillips. Dress up your hair with some cool accessories. I especially like Diamante grips. Accessories including head bands and bows can help hide messy hair as well. People will marvel at the accessories just as much as the hair.

Much more attractive than I high maintenance teen-age minded adult that has memorized all my credit card numbers, lol!
I know its ridiculous, but it’s true to a great extent wouldn’t ya say?
